We are proud to recognize Brandon Flores and Layla Lopez as Avenal High School’s Athletes of the Year, a selection made by a sports media analyst in recognition of their outstanding athletic accomplishments and impact on the Buccaneer community!
Layla Lopez — An outstanding two-sport athlete who excelled in basketball and softball, helping lead the Bucs to a Valley title. Her dedication, competitiveness, and leadership on the court and field made her an incredible representative of Avenal High School.
Brandon Flores — A four-year soccer and track & field captain whose commitment and leadership stood out throughout his high school career. Brandon also made multiple appearances at the State Meet in cross country, showcasing his talent, determination, and consistency at the highest level.
